Mick Bolander
Retreat Director/Wrangler
Mick Bolander has been Retreat Director and Wrangler for Pathfinder Ranch since 1998. He was born in South Dakota, graduated from Long Beach State, and has been living in Garner Valley since 1988.
He finds satisfaction in serving Pathfinder's guests and campers, hoping to make their retreat or conference as enjoyable as possible. He enjoys the outdoors, fishing, and riding, either horses or his 1928 Madel A Ford, named Jay's Steel.

Nick Zielinski
Program Director
Nick was born in Michigan, but his family soon settled in Dayton, Ohio.
"Having a bad case of wanderlust, I moved to Prescott, Arizona, where I completed my undergraduate studies," he says.
Spending most of his time in the Great Lakes region and southwest, he developed a rather conflicted set of hobbies. "When I'm not at Pathfinder Ranch, I'm likely found cycling, hiking, or hanging out with my dogs, Dayton and Suki."

Andrew "Shangu" Schenck
Outdoor Education Director
Shangu was found under a waterfall in the Great Lakes region and raised by a pack of wolves. This canine family taught him much about the ways of the world and the balance of nature. Following pack hierarchy, he accepted the role of the nomadic professor. Travelling by bicycle, catamaran, hiking boots, kayak, rickshaw, Soviet-era train, and hyperbole through over forty countries has opened his eyes, ears, and nose. He found work in some of those places, and family everywhere. Then he decided to find a home, so he returned to his den at Pathfinder Ranch, where he lived many years ago. He enjoys hiding knowledge nuggets wrapped in spontaneous fun throughout these mountains.
The previous paragraph has been based on actual events; however, some of the names have been changed to confuse things.
